About:China Embassy in Thailand

American on Thai tourist multiple entry visa wanting to visit Beijing for 4 days

I am holding a tourist type one in Thailand with multiple entires and want to visit Beijing traveling from Hong Kong in March for 4 days . I want to apply for it to the mainland of China in Chiang Mai , I have a confirmed flight to and from Hong Kong and confirmed hotel reservation in Beijing for the 4 nights . Any other documents needed for the visa besides the application ?

You already provide the required documents but I don't know if you can get it in Thailand as the new rule requires that the applicants should provide resident permit for work or study if they apply in the third country.

Hi Lisa , I'm hoping I can get it as to this explanation from the Chinese embassy ... If you are not applying for the visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your valid certificates or visa of stay, residence, employment or student status, or other valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of the country where you are currently staying.
It states " a valid certificate or visa of stay , in my case I'm here legally on a L type so I'm assuming I am good
