The goods include various kinds of food, daily necessity, accessories and so one. The food includes grapes, peach, carrots, pepper, cucumbers and so on. The daily using items such as iron, gold, silver articles, mirrors and other valuable items were transportated out of China . Rare birds, plants, medicines, jewelries and other items are transportated into China.
Ideas such as how the paper was made, the religion ideas exchanging and printing technology were transferred.
All them things and aspects are transported by ancient merchants and people who travel along that road such as the famous monk, Xuan Zang.

I disagree with you. The idea of paper did not come from the road but how they made it did. China is connected to the road, and came up with sturdier paper. Also, you can be a little nicer, that response was a little rude. And animals did not come from the road! Are you saying people did not trade animals before the road?
