About:China Family Reunion Visa

Extend visa

Hi, I plan to go to China and marry a chinese citizen, i will enter with L one entry, I think is 30 days. After we got married we can renew it or change to a Q type? I only plan to stay in China 80 days.

Hi, L can be extended once time, but it is impossible to change L into a Q type without leaving mainland PRC. It is possible for you to get it in HK anyway.

Hi ,

You can have a try to convert it within china if they allow you, as for me i havent go out but they did converted my L spouse into Q in Shenzhen. But the only difference is before the spouse L is ok that no exit and entry needed if you don't want to go out even for how many years, but they will permit you to stay for a month after the issuance then you can do the re entry again and every entry have a duration of stay unlike before for a spouse L no duration of stay indicated , only number of entrys, but anyways you can do the Q1 in order not to bother the duration of stay every entry that you will do.

Thanks, now I'm thinking if is possible to apply for a Q2 in my country, in fact i think this type is for chinese relatives or foreign relatives. How about my partner? The problem is we are not married, if is possible to apply Q2?

Hi,

Before we got married I entered china with an L tourist for 30 days. After we got married i converted my tourist L into spouse visa within china.

You can have a try to apply the Q without a marriage certificate, but i think better to get an invitation letter from your chinese partner so that if they will not allow you to avail the Q then you can get the other type with at least more than 30 days validity of stay in china in order for you to have enough time to process your documents.
