Visa for Mainland China

Hello we are travelling on Australian passports, and will be in Nepal for two weeks before entering China, is it possible to get a Tourist L for Mainland China in Nepal, and how long does it take?

Also what paperwork is required, as we are not planning on booking accommodation etc until we arrive in China. Thanks

It is possible as I know, the regular processing takes about 4 working days from the embassy. But if you visit for tourism, round-trip ticket and hotel bookings are required. Or you should provide invitation letter from a Chinese travel agency or individual.
