About:Guangzhou Travel

Do the arrival and departure flights need to be with the same airline?

If I arrive in GZ from Bangkok using Air Asia, and leave GZ for Toronto via Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific, do I qualify for the 72 hour transit visa?
