About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

How to get Resident Visa in China if I have a US employer and my employer does not have China office

I work for a US company, and we have a subcontractor in China with a team of ~10 people doing work to develop a product to our specification. In order to supervise the work of that subcontractor, my company wants to post me in China for a one year duration. What document will I need to get a resident type?

Hi, if you are going for work purpose, you should apply for a work Z type or business M type for one year. Residence permit is only required if you enter with work Z.

For work Z, you should ask for inviation letter and work permit from China. For M application, an invitation letter fro the subcontractor is enough. Basic documents required are your passport, application form with photo.
