booking a 2 month trip in Asia. return ticket from canada in to Shganghai

Hi there,
I am flying from Canada to shanghai, it is the cheapest ticket into asia. I want to land in shanghai and take advantage of the 72hr visa and visit shanghai for 3 days, then continue my two month journey into Phillipines, thailand, vietnam and others. I would return to Shanghai on my last day of the trip to catch the flight back to canada. i would be in shanghai less than 24 hrs on the return.

if the tickets are purchased with separate companies, and are separate itineraries, does it matter? My Air canada flight will show vancouver to shanghai, shanghai vancouver (2 months later) but i am purchasing a ticket out of shanghai prior to departure, that would get me out of shanghai within 72 hrs.

do i qualify for the this?
