What is needed to allowa a woman to hand carry her husband's cremated remains to China?

I have the cremated remain of Mr. Yu who died in Kalamazoo , MI on October 8, 2013. Exactly what documents do you need to allow his wife to hand carry his cremated remains home with her to China. Her visa expires in a few days. Please give me very specific details as we must travel to Chicago with the documents and do not want to have to return for missing documents or seals. The consulate has not been helpful at all and no one knows what is needed.

I suggest that you contact the airline directly, as they have a way to do transport ashes properly. As I know, a permit issued by Inspection and Quarantine Bureau are required.

Tod,

Could you please let me know what documentation requirements were needed to transport the ashes? I will have to do that in a week or so. Thanks

Josh
