About:China Visa Exemption

I have a japanese passport. Can I extend my "visa-free-stay" of 15days?

Is it possible that I extend my stay from within PRC? Or do I have to apply for one before I enter when I intend to stay longer than 15days? And what would be the maximum length of stay for a single entry?

Yes, you can extend it from the entry and exit management department of local PSB (police station bureau). It's not too difficult. A single entry one is usually for 30 days. And you can apply for a longer one before you go to PRC.
