My daughter watches "Elmo's World" and they have a Chinese family eating together for the "Family" episode. The little girl says she pours tea for her whole family, after her grandma & grandpa take their food (which is the tradition b/c they are elder). Then she said the siblings teach each other how to use the chopsticks. They use a huge spoon til they can learn how to use the chopsticks properly. If there are 3 children then the middle child has to teach the youngest. They have to be held with particular fingers, you can't bang them on your tableware, you can't point with them or chew on them, etc.
Its quite interesting how our cultures are so different
