Well, there are many reasons why he was remembered. One reason was that he made China a whole country by conquering all the little states.
Another reason was that he was the one that actually got people to build The Great Wall Of China in the first place. Anyone that was lazy in their work or didn't even do their work had to work on The Great Wall. Even people who opposed his ideas or rules were either put to death or to work on The Great Wall.
He is well known for his want to live for ever. He studied all these kind of things that made him live 'for ever'.
But eventually he died and was put in his tomb of over 6000 warriors (made of clay) because he thought that they would protect him in the after life.
Later, in 1974, they found the tomb of Qin and made it into a museum for everyone to see.
