About:China Family Reunion Visa

Use current tourist visa and then get residence permit in China?

I got married in September on a L type. It is multi-entry and still valid for almost another year. I am sending in i130 paperwork to get my wife here into the USA with me, but in the meantime I want to go back and be with my wife in PRC, and also need the flexibility to go back to the states now and then..

Should I apply for a Q1 before I go there again? Should I just go on the L type I have already? If I go on the L type can I still apply for the temporary residence permit once I get there, that lets me freely go back and forth between the USA and PRC?
Thanks!

I wanted to add that my multi entry one allows for 90 day stays, which is pretty long. I am just looking for the best way to go about seeing my wife as much as I can while I work towards getter her to the USA.

Well, I think you may use your multiple L until it expires. If you can not get her to the USA before your multiple L expires, then you can apply for a Q1 type when you are in the USA.
