Does the 72 hour free transit apply for a double transit in China within 72 hours?

Hi,
I fly from Amsterdam to Melbourne with 2 transits in China:
Amsterdam - Chengdu (2,5 hour transit).
From Chengdu to Guangzhou. (3 hour transit)
From Guangzhou to Melbourne.

On the way back the same but then I have a transit in Beijing and Guangzhou.
Can I get a 72 hour free transit visa?

For your case, I'm afraid you are not qualified for the 72h free-visa policy. Though, you don't need a visa during your transits in the two cities without going out of the airports.

Yes, if you transit in two airports in China and leave within 24 hours, you are exempted from visa as well. You just need to apply for a stay permit after arrival at the first airport.
