About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

is it ok to have 2 separate tickets rather than a connecting one?

I'm doing a backpacking trip across Asia, with no plans, just buying tickets when needed. So would I be able to buy a ticket from Seoul to Beijing then another Beijing to Hong Kong, for example? As long as I have my flights booked, is it ok to stop over?

I don't think it is a problem as long as you have the air ticket to leave from the Airport. If you are still worried about it, you can call 0086-10-56095400 for help.
