About:China Embassy in Thailand

I applied for a 12 month multi entry tourist visa but they said I can only have 30 days. Why?

I am a Canadian citizen. I have been living in China for 2 1/2 years studying.

Hi, that is true, you can only get a 30 day L if you are visiting for the first time for travel.

This isn't my first tourist visa to China,I have had 2 tourist L before as well as two student X.

Hi, did they mean a 12 months multi entry tourist L with 30 days as duration of each entry? which you have to leave every 30 day then re-enter mainland PRC?
