Tourist visa for uk citizen travelling in Nepal

Hi I am travelling to Nepal for a three month trekking holiday, and after I would like to explore mainland china. If I apply in the uk the 90 day L will expire before I can enter mainland. Is it possible to apply in Kathmandu for a three month tourist L? Or is it possible to obtain a 6 month tourist L here in the UK? Thanks simon.

It is ok for you to apply for a 3 month L in Kathmandu while traveling.
