Short Stay in HKG

Hi, I am planning a journey to see my girlfriend in Beijing and was wondering if this is possible. I wish to fly to PEK and make use of my 72 hours before flying to Hong Kong for about a day. I then want to come back, spend a further 72 hours in Beijing before flying back home. This is all on one multi-city ticket. Would this be allowed?

It is ok, but you should better confirm this with the carrier airline.
