About:Kunming Travel Tips

do I need to book sleeper train ticket in advance if we plan to reach Lijiang area from Kunming?

I will be going to KM on 31/3/2014 and arrive at KM airport at 5pm.I intent to go straight to take 10.30 pm sleeper train to Lijiang.I will stay 2 nights in Lijiang and take the 8.30 am on 3/4 train back to KM for 3 nights before departing on 6/4.Question is do I need to book the train ticket in advance? How far is airport to train station in KM? what do you think of my schedule?

Yes, it is suggested to book the train tickets in advance, since you want to buy the sleeper.
From the airport, there is about 28 to 30km to the railway station.
I think your plan is very good, but if you can, it is suggested to stay one more night in Lijiang area and two nigts in KM.
