About:Simatai Great Wall

Simatai back to Beijing

Hi, I'm going to be hiking from Jinshanling to Simatai at the start of October and wanted to know what the easiest way is to get back to BJ from Simatai?
Do buses run from Simatai back to BJ (on weekdays) or will I need to take a taxi then a bus?
Also what time does the transport run until (say we finish at Simatai about 4pm)?

From Simatai, there is no direct bus to reach BJ, so you need to take local bus to reach Miyun Bus Station, where you can find bus 980 to reach BJ.
The public bus between Simatai and Miyun is hard to take, so it is suggest to take a taxi to reach Miyun Bus Station.
In my opinion, it is suggested to hire a car from Miyun Bus Station to reach Jishanling first and then ask the driver to wait for you at Simatai, so that you can take the bus you hire to go back to Miyun.
