F visa to Z via agent in HK?

I will begin work for a Chinese company in October, and will change my F to a Z. They prepared the paperwork for me to be able to pick up my new Z in Hong Kong. Is it possible to use an agent in HK, without going myself? Can I send my passport and paperwork to HK, and have it returned to me in Shanghai? My current F expires on 15 September.

I am afraid not. Because according to the requirements released by the Commissioner's Office, applicants must be physically in HK. So, I think you should better do this in person.
