US citizen in jakarta, wkd trip to shanghai

Hi, I am currently a US citizen working in jakarta who has booked a weekend trip to Shanghai leaving Friday Sept. 6th. I realize I need to submit my application for the visa fairly soon. If I submit tomorrow (weds am), could I get it back by Friday? I am leaving on a weekend trip to Bali this Saturday and don't want to be without my passport.
