There are many trains you can take. There are the high-speed EMU trains and the locomotive-hauled trains. I like the loco-hauled trains more, they are safer and more comfortable. I suggest taking the K1363. Get a Soft Sleeper (RuanWoChe).

It departs from Beijing West at 10:15 PM, arrives at 12:52 PM the next day.

You could take a faster train but you'll enjoy this slower ride. The train is going to Chengdu as its terminus.
