Is it possible to get L extended again?

Hi I am currently doing internship in shanghai. I took a chinese course last semester and it expired on mid-july so I changed it into L. But it will expire this weekend again so I want to get another tourist L. Can I bring the old temporary residence permit? I stay in the same place until now. Or do I need to get a residence permit again?

I am afraid you can not extend the L one more time. Anyway, you are suggested to visit Shanghai local PSB directly for more information. As what I have heard, you may need to go to apply for a new L in HK or back to your home country. If you get an L, it is not necessary to apply for residence permit.
