The Silk Road to travel

my base in Chengdu, I like to visit Xian,Jiayuguan, Dunhuang, Turpan,Urumqi. which way to begin the journey Xian or Urumqi by train ( back to Chengdu by flight) in September, ten days should I book train and air ticket early ?

Hi, it is suggested to start from Xian. From Xian, there is direct train for Jiayuguan. After all the trips, you can take a direct plane from Urumqi to Chengdu.

Generally speaking, you can buy the train tickets on the spot, but for air tickets, it is best to book in advance.
