resigning work permit cancellation?

Question

Hi I m resigning from my company and leaving china. My employer is asking to cancel the Residence permit also (Apart from work permit) which will take 7 days after my last working day. Is there any such rule to cancel the residence permit also? IS that mandatory? if yes, is there any xpress processing to get in 2-3 days? I am planning to exit the country after 2-3 days from my last working day.

Actually, you can go to the local PSB to apply for a tourist type, which can enable you to stay in China for at least 7 days. Then you can get out of China easily.
