About:Dual Nationality

Can the child change it's nationality later on if one parent is foreign?

I am British and my wife is Chinese. We will have a baby early next year.
My wife and I are discussing whether to have them be born as a Chinese national and then later change their nationality later on or to have British nationality from birth.

As I know, a newly-born baby keeps Chinese nationality till 18 years old, when he or she can choose whether to be Chinese or British.
