About:Chinese Embassy in Argentina

Do I need a hotel booking for the application for a VISA if I stay at friend's house?

I'm argentininan and I would like to go to china for about six weeks.

No, it is not necessary, but make sure provide an invitation letter from your friend, and copies of your friend's Chinese ID or passport bio-data page, residence permit and work Z if he/she is a foreigner.
