About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Layover Beijing with different bookings

Good morning,
I am planning on a layover in Beijing with two different bookings (much cheaper and more hours of layover):
- Seoul - Beijing.
- Beijing - Madrid.
The Airlines are different and so are the bookings. Is there any problem in doing that to qualify for the visa free Transit?

Victor, the citizens of Spain can travel to or via China absolutely visa free for up to 30 days in the same way as you will travel to South Korea. You are not a subject of any visa free transit scheme being it 24 or 240 hour visa free transit. Simply speaking, you do not have to comply with the visa free transit rules. If you are the citizen of some other country, but your citizenship belongs to 55 countries eligible for visa free transit, the answer is again simple, your itinerary is eligible for both 24 and 240 hour visa free transit. It will be 24 hours visa free transit if your layover is shorter than 24 hours and 240 hours visa free transit if your layover is longer than 24 hours. You are good in all the circumstances. Upon landing in Beijing you will find arrival cards that you will fill out. You will then proceed to the automatic fingerprinting machine and you will take a receipt. If you are the citizen of Spain, you will then proceed to the immigration and then to collect your luggage in order to be able to perform a new check-in for the second segment of your flight itinerary. You can also deposit your luggage at the airport if you plan to visit a city (based on your available time). By the way, Spanish citizens do not need to approach 24/240 hour visa free transit because they are not a subject of visa free transit rules and procedures. Have a nice journey.
