About:Beijing Weather in January

Hi, I and my family will visit Beijing on 5-9 Dec 2013. Is the town already snowy on the date?

What equipment shoud I prepared for that time? What is the best spot I can visit?

Oh, it is possible that snowy days happen during that time. Well, the average temp shall be nearly 0C. I suggest you take along Long John, sweater and thermal jacket.

At that time, you can visit Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Great Wall (maybe) and others. And Wangfujing and Silk Street deserve a visit as well.

thank you for the information. When does snow usually fall in BJ? because i think i need special shoes if the it's really snowy on that dates.

Generally, very light snow may fall in the end of Nov. and early Dec. From the mid to end of Dec. you will feel denser snowfall. In Jan. and Feb. in the next year, there may be light snow. Considering alll, you may need to prepare a pair of snow boots. I have lived in BJ for almost three years.
