Hi, if you residen in any city other than Beijing, you should send your application directly to HK Immigration department. If you do not have sponser, you can fill in form with "No guarantor", providing round trip air-ticket booking list, hotel reservation for that 3 days and a copy of Chinese residence permit. If possible, you can support your application with a true bank statement.

If you stay at your classmate's home, why not ask him as your sponsor and process your application in HK? If you apply from the HK Immigration Department, you need to pay HK dollars. By the way, L type requirements say that round-trip air tickets and hotel booking orders are needed.

The problem is you can't go through the Luohu Border if you don't have the valid travel document for HK. No matter how long you have stayed in China, you still need to apply one for HK. The mainland Chinese resident permit has nothing to do with your HK visa. Here is the hotline ((852+ 2824 6111) for HK Immigration Department. You may contact them and ask for professional help.

I am afraid not. if you can not provide flight ticket and hotel bookings, there is possibility that your application will be refused. Because the officers need to know your travel itinerary clearly with supporting documents. Or they may require a bank statement as proof of sufficient money for your visit.
