About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Can you get the 72 hours if you fly from Hong Kong to Shanghai, then Taipei and back to Hong Kong?

I am afraid not. The officers may not consider your visit as a transit via Shanghai if you fly this way. Anyway, you can confirm this directly with Shanghai airport: 0086-21-51105100
