About:China Visa Application in USA

Need for a G type one for transit through Shanghai to Vietnam ?

I have a valid China VISA for my outbound trip, however, it will expire on my return inbound trip through Shanghai. Do I need to get a new one or does the 72 hour transit period apply to U.S. citizens?

Yes, you can enjoy 72 hours free transit at Shanghai airport as long as you have connecting air ticket and valid visa (if necessary) to Vietnam.
