About:Embassy & Consulates of Japan in China

Deposit in the bank

Hi there! I am a Chinese citizen. I was told that I f I want to get the visa to Japan, I have to freeze 100.000 Yuan RMB in the bank if I am single. If married, 50.000 Yuan RMB. Is that true? If so, I don't think it's wise to have such a regulation like that. Anyway, thanks for the explantion and help. Richard

Hi, my husband just got his Japanese visa issued yesterday. It is true because they just want to confirm your financial capability, so that you will have enough money to travel. The money will be unfreezed a few months later after you come back.
