It is a great time to visit that city and the city has the most people in August. The average temperature is around 22 to 30C during that time.
You can make transfer in Beijing. You can fly to Beijing first and then change to take a bullet trains to reach QD. It is also fast, but much cheaper than flying directly.

It's a little hot in QD now,you just wear a T-shirt or some cool clothes.Liuting Airport is in Chengyang District,it will spend you nearly one hour to come to the center.You can take the special bus from the airport to the center,it will spend you 20RMB.or you can by taxi,that will spend 150 RMB

July and August are the booming seasons to visit QD, another peak will be during the Chinese National Day Holiday(Oct.1-10th)...But right now it is definitely the best time, end of the beer festival, students go back to schools...The temperature is around 26-28 in the daytime with cool wind and bright sun! Land in Beijing South Station first, and then fast speed CRH Train from BJ-QD, when you walk out from the exit of the train station, take bus No. 26 at a cost of just 1RMB, you can right see beautiful sea-view QD all the way from the west coast to the middle downtown Nanjing Road!
