how do i access my checked baggagethen leave it at the airport during my 72hr visit

I would like to bring a gift to a friend in Beijing of homemade jelly that would be in my checked baggage. I would want to retrieve it from baggage and then leave the baggage at the airport during my out-of-airport visit. How can this be done? Are there any regulations against homemade jelly-food gifts?

If you have the luggage check-through service, I'm afraid you cannot access your checked luggage at PEK. Otherwise, you may pick up your luggage. As I know, for your case, you can just take things that are no more than necessities for traveling. For the homemade jelly-food, it may be forbidden to be taken out.
