Do we need a double entry Visa?

Hi There
We are flying into Beijing on July 30th 3pm to go on a cruise from Tianjin on the 31st 6pm to Cheju Island and Seoul and back to Tianjin on the 5th 7am and leave from Beijing at 12:30 pm same day. Does the 72 hr free transit apply to us. We applied for it with all the flight and Cruise detail and the Chinese embassy issued us a single entry. Our travel agent is not conveying the message properly. The Cruise liner had advised us to apply for a double entry one.. Can you please let us know if we need to apply for our double entry again?

The 72 hr free transit does not apply to you for the second entry as you will arrive at Tianjin by cruise and leave from Beijing by air. But as I know, according to the new rule from July first, 2013, visa is not required if you will transit for less than 24 hours, even by cruise,or train. The embassy issued a single entry recently with all your travel details, so that means a single entry is enough.
