Train ticket booked my a Hong Kong resident

Hello,

I was wondering if a Chinese friend of mine who is living in Hong Kong, could book train tickets for mainland China for me if I provide him all my passport information? Or do I need to contact a travel agency? I'm traveling in mid-September till October. Thank you.

You could let your friend to book the tickets on the official website. You need to offer your name and passport number to your friend.

Thx! I'm planning a trip in China trough 8 cities, will arrive on 10/09 in Hong Kong and leaving on the 03/10. Do you think I will be able to collect all tickets at my arrival in Hong Kong, in other words are tickets really available 20days before departure?

I'm planning to book a flight from Beijing to Shanghai on the 1/10 due to national holiday, are train tickets the week prior to holidays still available? Or should I book a flight as well?
