About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Free Transit for Filipino citizens en route to Canada via Beijing stopover

I'm a Filipino citizen and am planning to visit Vancouver, Canada coming from Manila International Airport possibly with a stopover in China (Air China or China Southern Airlines).

Am I required to get a Chinese G type should stopover be within 24 hour period only?

Nope, but you need to apply for a stay permit if you want to get out of the airport.
