requirements to get a working visa

Hi there,

I am currently in touch with a company in China that is willing to take me in for a one-year contract.
The company is telling me that they are having problems getting the Z procedure done because I do not have more than 2 years work experience from my graduation, but only 1.5.
I want to know if that is really a requirement to then get either the "Invitation Letter of Duly Authorized Unit" or "Confirmation Letter of Invitation".
Is there anything that they are doing wrong? Is there any requirement at all from the Governement to request these Documents to have the procedure move forward?

Please let me know. I need your help.

Best

Yes, it is true. 2 years work experience is required for work permit application.

Hi Arnold, thanks for your reply.
The company was telling me that they need 2 years work experience from the person's graduation. As I started working before finishing my studies, and I have therefore more experience than requested, I am wondering whether this rule still applies. Can you tell me anything about that? Do you know exactly how it works?

If the company want to do things in a legal way, you have to produce letters from previous employers confirming your work experience (be relevant to the proposed position of work) and stating your job title. As I know, they tightened up the rules since 2008.

Not sure what your employment will be but no, two years experience is not always necessary. Be careful though, if a new employer is saying they can't get you a work Z then perhaps they are not authorised to employ foreigners! The laws have just changed here, you do not want to be working illegally and they shouldn't be employing you. Be careful, sounds dodgy to me!
