About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

American in Korea Needs Visa to China

To whom it may concern,

Hello, my name is Catherine Forrester. I am an American citizen currently residing in Seoul and I would like to travel to China for about 4 or 5 days. I have several questions in regards to this. Firstly, do I need one to simply visit China? Secondly, if yes, how long would it take to process it?Because I would like to go to China in two weeks I would need it quickly. Thirdly, if I can get a L type to China guaranteed within two weeks, what documents do I need to apply for it and by when do I need to submit my application? Also, where can I go to submit my application form? Please do not simply refer me to a website, because I find that the current official Chinese website is rather unorganized and does not provide all of the information that I need readily. Perhaps this is due to my lack of ability, but nevertheless, I wish to travel soon, so if you could please email me back as soon as possible that would be most appreciated. Yes, you need to apply for one if you want to visit China. It usually take four working days to process your application. According to the embassy, you need to apply via a designated travel agency in South Korea. It means you need to give all your documents to them and ask them to do it for you.

To apply for a L type one, you need to provide: 1. Your passport with a validity of at least six months and two blank pages. 2. filled application form stuck with a recent passport size photo. 3. An invitation letter from authorized Chinese companies, organizations, Chinese individual or any foreigner in China. If you can't provide the invitation letter, you need to provide your travel itineraries, round-trip air ticket and hotel reservation orders.

PS: ARC card with a validity of six months at least is required too.
