About:Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka

My son is studyting in an American University, and has been selected to Study in China.

He is currently back on holiday. He is due to be in there (at South Western University) from 25th August until 16t December. The American University has given him a letter confirming same.

Please advise what documents are needed to apply for the Visa, and what type he has to apply for.

He should apply for an F type with admission letter from the university and application form for study. The basic requirements are the original passport, application form, photo.

Since it is an study abroad program, my son has a letter from the American Unirversit, where is is following a degree. Only for the upcomming Semester will he be going to South Western University.

Will the letter from the American Univer be sufficient?

I am afraid not. Please contact South Western University first for an invitation letter/confirmation letter. Or you can try to make enquiry to the embassy directly.
