About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Seoul to Beijing back to Seoul and fly back to the USA the next day.

I am a US citizen visiting South Korea for a few days. I want to just do a roundrip from Seoul to Beijing back to Seoul and fly back to the USA the next day. If I show that I am departing South Korea back to the USA within 48 hours, am i eligible? Just want to do less than 24 hours visiting the great wall.

No, you need to apply for a Chinese tourist visa in advance if you fly a roundtrip between Seoul and Beijing. Because this is not a transit via Beijing airport.
