About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

application and collection on the same day

I have a british passport and will be flying from Dublin to Beijing on 20th September this year for 12 days. Can my friend and I go to Dublin to leave and collect visa all in one day before our journey ? Or have we to send off to London ? Or have we to post down to Dublin and then collect ?

You can do it in one day, but it is very expensive. Better to drop it off and pick it up a week later. Call the embassy in Dublin and ask about restrictions based on your passport being British, but I don't think you should have any trouble. I hold a USA passport and I got a Chinese visa while living in Japan with no difficulty at all.

I've been trying to get through to embassy in Dublin from 3to 4 pm totally engaged the whole time, so was wondering if I just come down on Monday bringing all relevant docs and see what they say. Also as far as I am aware I need the Supplementary form, would that be correct ?

Thank you

Hi, it is too early to apply now if you plan to visit in September, because a single entry Chinese visa is vaid for 3 months only from issue date. You can apply in August for the best. You can visit the embassy directly as no appointment is required. And you are right, supplementary form V2011B is required as you apply in a third country other than UK.
