You can take the ferry at Shekou Port.

Actually if you are taking the K950 train, it would be be more convenient that you get off at Guangzhou and connect to the Through Train direct to Hong Kong Kowloon.

BTW, which part of Hong Kong is your final stop? If you can give more details, i can point you to towards the more convenient route.

At SZ Railway Station take the exit leading to the metro station - direction signages are in English too. Out of exit you find on the right an escalator leading down to the metro concourse at the basement. From here Luohu station you can take the metro to Shekou Port station - you need to switch lines at either Grand Theatre or Window of the World stations! The journey takes about 1hour.

And yet, 50 metres from SZ Railway exit is the crossborder checkpoint to Hong Kong. You can just cross the checkpoint and then use the metro on the Hong Kong side that takes you to HK downtown in 40 minutes!
