Days needed to visit Nanjng major historical & cultural sites by local tours

Recommended cities within 500 km from NJ with historical and cultural interests on free and easy or tours in 6-7 days?

I think you can spend two to three days in Yangzhou and then several days in Wuxi.
But to be honest, most of the attrations in the two cites charge. It is hard to find ticket-free attractions in China.

Thanks Luo for helpful advice. I understand attractions charge admission fees. Free & easy is doing it on my own. May join package tours for convenience. Where is city centre (names of streets, pedestrian malls).

Is Hefei interesting?
