Need a Chinese Visa for transfer flights between Pudong and Hongqiao?

I am flying from US to India. There will be a flight change from Pudong to Hongqiao. Do I need to have a Chinese Visa? Will I need to pick up my luggages at Pudong airport and check-in again at Hongqiao airport?

Hi, are you a US passport holder? If so, you don't need a Chinese visa. The fact is that you are qualified for the 72h free-visa policy. Therefore, you just need to clarify this with your airline and they will arrange that for you.

If you use the same airline and have the connecting boarding pass, you don't need to pick up your luggage and recheckin. Just find them at the final stop in this case.

For further confirmation, I suggest you call 021-96990 (Hotline of PVG) to consult.
