Shopping at Dongmen Pedestrian Street

Can you provide important tips to shop at Dongmen Pedestrian Street ? Is it safe there ?
Are we allowed to bargain for the prices ?
Any nice restaurants (Cantonese food) to recommend.

For the Cantonese food, Xingji Tiepan restaurant is suggested and it is located at No5, Xinyuan Road. To be honest, there are many good cantonese restaurants and you can go there to have a look. Then pick up one that you are interested in.
