transit info in Beijing airport

hello
i m planning to fly from Los Angeles to BJ to stay for less than 3 days then continue to Bangkok for a week then return back to BJ for another 2 days before i leave back to Los Angeles.
Do I need a visa for china or I m within the 3 days exempt visa? Thanks
