About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

What Visa Do I need

I am currently in China on a F type one doing an internship and once that is done I will have 2 weeks until my flight home to the UK. During them two weeks would like to go to Australia and return to china the day before my flight to the UK. The problem is my current one is a one entry so once I leave for Australia it will expire. So my question is as I will be back for probably less then 24 hour can I get a the 72 hour transit pass or would I need a L type one?

Which city will you land at when you come back from Australia? Remember that 72 hours free transit is only acceptable in Beijing and Shanghai. If you land at Beijing or Shanghai and then fly back to UK, you will enjoy the 72 hours free transit.

You need to inform your airline about the transit request and fill up a form so that the airline will email your information to the Shanghai Airport. You will get the permit upon arrival at the airport.
