About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

Residence permit and F-visa

I'm studying in Shanghai as an exchange student and I have a student residence permit valid until 31st July. I'm planning to stay until September to study Chinese, it is possible to get a F type one in Shanghai?

To my knowledge, you can extend your residence permit to a tourist L with extra 30 days. If you want to stay until September, you may need to exit first and apply for a F in HK.
